Why October 2017 Was the Best Month to Apply For Canadian Immigration

A number of measures have been taken this October that will make it easier for some applicants to receive their Canadian Citizenship. The ItsCanadaTime team is very excited for these developments, especially because we have a very specific client base that has been asking for these changes.

You may remember in September when we announced the beginning of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. ItsCanadaTime released the historic reform that required Canadian businesses to hire foreign workers. Well… We have some bigger news.

55 Years old or above – 17 years old or younger will not have to take language and knowledge exams

That’s right! Those of you worried that it “may be too late for Canada,” couldn’t be any further from the truth. Canada has now made it easier for you and your children to immigrate to Canada and become Citizens! It’s the greatest Canadian advancement since sliced bread.

Many clients have been commenting recently on the blog writing:

“What do I do? I want to immigrate, but I’m 55, Canada doesn’t want me.”

This one is for you! We told you, it’s never too late and now we see that becoming a Canadian Citizen has just become effortless. Congratulations!

The required physical presence in Canada has been CUT IN HALF

canadian immigration time cut in half

You guessed it! Instead of having to be in Canada for a required 6 years, the Canadian government will now only require you to be present in Canada for a period of 3 years in order to apply for Canadian Citizenship.

Furthermore, the required minimum of 183 days (to be considered a year) has been abolished. This means that those with permanent residence will now be able to study abroad, work in other countries, or visit family members, without losing their citizenship eligibility.

Temporary workers, students, tourists, and refugees can accumulate physical presence in Canada

Maybe the most progressive and beneficial reform passed in bill C-6 on October 11th allows those who are not permanent residents to use time spent in Canada as physical presence. Those who have been in Canada may use the time (up to 1 year maximum) to arrive at the 3-year-requirement and are then allowed to apply for citizenship. So to some up this historic amendment, Citizenship may be accomplished after only 2 years of your Permanent Residence Visa!

You could be one of 300,000 immigrants!

canadian immigration policy

The current liberal reform policy spear-headed by Ahmed Hussen and backed by Prime Minister Justin Trudea is meant to simplify the process of becoming a Canadian citizen. Thanks to the laws passed in October, many immigrants will be looking to move to Canada!

Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen was elected in January of 2017 and since then has raised the annual standard of Canadian Immigration to 300,000. Hussen, a Canadian immigrant himself, fled war-torn Somalia at the age of 16 in 1993.

The new policy taking effect NOW certainly reflects a relaxed stance on the rules for obtaining Canadian citizenship, which PM Hussen claims will make the journey to join the “Canadian family” more effortless and adaptable.

This is a major win for Canadian immigrants! Thanks to last month’s amazing news November is your time to join the 300,000 immigrants moving to Canada this year. Click Here or click the banner below to start your immigration today.

Hi,
my friend has become a Job in Calgary, he eas there for three years on a work viza. His company applyed for him, they said he is in pool and he has to wait. But last December 2016 was 3 years and than he didnt became any answer and he had to live Canada because his viza last only 3 year. How long does it take to get an answer from Cic? Why he didnt get any answer?
Thank you!

Reply

    Randy Travis (Blogger for ItsCanadaTime)

    Hi Natalija 🙂
First of all, thanks for coming to my blog. I have read your message and thought a little bit about your friend’s problem. It is certainly unique. Since recently the Canadian government has made it a requirement for Canadian jobs to be filled that cannot be filled by willing or qualified Canadian Citizens. That means that your friend now has a better chance of being hired if he is still registered in the TFW pool. It is also required that these jobs be posted on the TFWP job board. Please tell your friend to actively check the job board, which can be accessed online. If he has used a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant, then the RCIC should be informing him of job offers or relevant jobs that are currently available. If his Visa has expired he will need to register again for a Canadian Visa, and only then will he be entered into the TFW pool. Best regards.

I know that before 2017 is over 300,000 immigrants will be accepted into Canada. I also know that skilled workers are given priority visas. So your chances are great! You can always register, build an immigration profile and see if you are eligible. Most Immigration Agencies will see first if you will qualify before they continue with your immigration process.

    Hi Mojahed 🙂

My advice to you (since you said your English is not good) is to find a course that will help you prepare for the IELTS (English exam). In order to receive a Canadian Permanent Resident Visa, you will have to pass these exams. Good luck!
