The Top 5 Mistakes When Applying For a Canadian Visa

  1. “Canada doesn’t want me.”

Yes they do! Unlike the United States of America, New Zealand, and Australia, who have recently scrapped their foreign skilled workers programs, Canada continues to create and invest in new programs to encourage people to apply for a Canadian Visa. In fact, Canada attributes its current booming economy to the record number of immigrants it accepts every year.  In 2016 – 367,000 International students  generated $11.53 Billion for the Canadian economy. How about that!?

Wait, it gets better: The Canadian Immigration Minister, Ahmed Hussen, is himself an immigration success story. Ahmed Hussen, Canada’s Immigration Minister, came to Canada as a Somalian refugee when he was just 16 years old. His mission is to help other immigrants enjoy the same success, by making sure there are jobs, opportunity, and freedom for all. In 2016 Canada set a record by accepting a recorded 46,700 Refugees.

  1. “I’ll be there in two weeks!”

This made me chuckle a little, only due to the fact that a few days ago Canada actually came up with a Global Skills Program that will target highly skilled foreign workers to be hired by Canadian companies in hopes of stimulating immigration. The Global Skills Program hopes to get immigrants to Canada in just two weeks.

Besides this new selective effort, most immigration cases will take anywhere between six months to a year. So do not expect to sign a few documents, bing, bang, boom, citizenship.

  1. “Me, myself and I know the best Immigration program, period.”

While I agree that you may have done your research, the fact is that you may need a second opinion when it comes to finding the best Immigration Program. What do I mean about the “best Immigration Program?” I mean the program that will give you the best chances of getting your Visa to Canada. The program in which you qualify for the most points is often the best program for you.

For instance: a visa applicant choses to go with the Self Employed Persons Program, however unbeknownst to the applicant, having siblings in Canada and having a master’s degree from a recognized University will actually give this applicant more points under the Express Entry Program.

Instances like these, in which an applicant minimizes their chances of getting a visa, can be prevented by simply finding an authorized immigration consulting agency that uses an Online Immigration System which will gather all the required information in one comfortable cloud.

  1. “I’ll worry about that document later.”

According to Immigration Experts the number one hurdle visa applicants are facing today is the failure to provide documentation. The second you make the decision to apply for a Canadian Visa, it is important to gather all the documents required by the Canadian Government. We’re not just referring to passports, birth certificates and Identification. This also means getting letters of recommendation from your prior employers, college transcripts, and don’t forget to make photo copies of everything! If getting to Canada as soon as possible is really important to you, then you should take this very seriously. Getting off to the races when it comes to providing documents should certainly be a top priority for your immigration process, especially because immigration lawyers will not review your case until presented with one hundred percent of the required documents.

  1. “I don’t need to go with a consultant agency; the government website should be easy enough.”

The truth is, by using the government website without professional assistance you are opening yourself up for error. One small mistake during this long stressful road could ruin your chances, leaving you without a visa to Canada and out of your hard earned money.

When consulting with a private immigration agency you will be connected to a licensed Immigration Expert, assigned specifically to you, and available 24/7. Lots of clients enjoy the privilege of discussing their cases with professionals who are willing to help them every step of the way. Agencies may also provide their clients with services such as English classes to pass the IELTS exam, job coaching, and access to immigration lawyers. If you’re looking for a smooth, quick, and easy way to immigrate to Canada, using an Immigration Consultant Agency is the way to go.

Hallo!! It is really amazing to see how Canada is open to immigrants! While most of other developed countries see threat in immigrants, Canada find that they are rather an opportunity for it to move ahead. Surprisingly, despite the considerable numbers that Canada receives, it is said that Canada remains one of the rare countries ( if not the first) where people find
opportunities. I wish I could be there one day.

Hi Hiralal,

Like I mentioned in the article, there are mistakes that can be made when you try to apply for a visa independently. Using a private immigration agency will significantly increase your chances of getting a visa. I don’t specifically know your case, so it is hard to say what went wrong. Let me know what I can do to help 🙂

    Hi,
I’m not sure what you’re asking here.
I can tell you that IELTS or TOFEL or TEF are a mandatory requirement by the Canadian government. If you need help with your English we have a great course to help you be ready for the IELTS.
You say there’s no visa – I don’t understand what that means, but I hope you don’t mean anything illegal.

Anyway, If you want to start a legal process, you can click here.

    Good luck!
